FINALISTS: The Company-X team behind the One Network Road Classification Performance Measures Reporting Tool.

The team behind the One Network Road Classification Performance Measures Reporting Tool were finalists for a significant national award.

The ONRC PMRT team comprising subject matter experts the Road Efficiency Group and software specialist Company-X were finalists in the Excellence in GovTech award at the New Zealand Excellence in IT Awards in Wellington today (July 12).

The Excellence in GovTech award is for a team or individual who has achieved outstanding results through technology innovation in any aspect of central or local government IT. This could include anything related to Government, including open data and open government projects.

Judges said the PMRT team had turned a routine job into an innovative national solution.

“Their tool is now used throughout the country supporting a national road dataset enabling data-driven decision making on all governmental levels.”

“A project like this needs a customer with exceptional vision, focus and great collaboration,” said Company-X co-founder and director Jeremy Hughes. “The whole Road Efficiency Group team has been exemplary in this regard. We’ve been superbly supported by the REG Data Working Group, particularly by the chair, Dawn Inglis.”

Hughes thanked the leadership of the Road Efficiency Group for trusting Company-X to use an iterative process on the project team’s journey alongside roading asset managers. He also thanked the Company-X team so passionately dedicated to the project.
